Breckenridge is equally inviting during the summer season though. With a beautiful river and picturesque mountains, this Victorian style town that takes you into the past with its cherished heritage and beautiful buildings.

Apart from the memorable experiences while you are out and about, your culinary cravings will be answered as well. A good meal can certainly top off a great vacation. Finding a good place to eat, especially a place that will give you enough choices to cater to your preferences in types as well as styles is very important for those who cherish the experience that is called 'dining.' The town accommodates many different preferences. People who like to grab a bite during their runs down the trails, or a couple wanting to enjoy an elegant night out, or even a family with those energetic little ones (who inevitably find it hard to sit in one place) will all be looked after to their satisfaction.

From BBQs to seafood to fresh wild game, you can have it all here. One of the well known names in town is that of the "Breckenridge Brewery and Pub." Another eating place on the mountains is "The Briar Rose Restaurant & Bar." Located on the top of peak 10, they have great slow roasted ribs, steaks, seafood, wild game and vegetarian dishes.

Genuine American food at "Downstairs at Eric's" is also worth trying. Good beer, great pizzas, and sports entertainment on large screen TV's are the highlights of the place which makes it a fun spot to hang out with friends. Some other good places to go to for American food include: "Steak and Rib," "Horseshoe II," "Spencer's Steak & Spirits," and "Breckenridge Cattle and Fish Co."

For pizza lovers, "Fatty's Pizzeria," "Windy City Pizza" (awesome Chicago style pizza), and "Giampietro Pasta & Pizzeria" are just a few of the options available. True Italian cuisine can be enjoyed at "Michael's Italian Restaurant." With their great lasagna, Italian pizzas and wonderfully aromatic garlic bread, the place has a very inviting smell and the prices are reasonable.

An interesting experience worth doing while you are in town can be found at the "Dredge Boathouse." This floating restaurant replicates the old huge dredges that operated in the river from around 1900 to 1942.

If you are after elegant dining then you will enjoy your time at "Hearthstone Restaurant." It is located in a 120 year old Victorian house. This place will provide you with a sophisticated and elegant dining experience. Another classy place is a rustic restaurant called "Top of the World," which is at 10,200 ft. on Mountain View cliff. They boast fine American cuisine with an elegant French influence. Likewise, "Blue River Bistro," "Briar Rose," "Pierre's River Walk Café," and "Spencer's Steak and Spirits" also provide a nice atmosphere and sophisticated settings.

Other recommendations include the "Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.", an especially good place to take children because their kids menu has great non seafood choices and several different smoothies. "South Ridge Seafood Grill" has great tasting fresh fish. For something a little different head to "Red Orchid," a fantastic Chinese restaurant. If you like sushi, check out "Sushi Breck."

The town of Breckenridge doesn't only look like an old fashioned Victorian style town, but rest assured the people there also know the good old fashioned style of hospitality. Whoever you are, and wherever you come from, they will make sure that as long as you are their guest you will be well taken care of.
